Whitley Bench
The Whitley is a solid wood bench with a slatted top made with traditional joinery. It's size and height allow it to be used as either a bench or a coffee table.
The 'Burnt Oak' is the version in black and is made using a traditional technique of burning called shou sugi ban. The wood is literally burned to seal it. Charring the wood makes it more durable, weather proof and less susceptible to fire and insects. Because the wood is charred, it will show movement and imperfections in the finish making each piece unique and slightly varied.
Both the Oak and Burnt Oak are sealed with a natural wax finish. The Burnt Oak can be used outdoors.
For any outdoor furniture we recommend covering the pieces when not in use to protect from direct sun, rain or snow to extend the life of the pieces.
